Plans for the Future

We’ve come a long way…

Three years ago, when the Eastmorland Community Center was formed, having a new building to host our many activities was a far-off dream. Many hours of planning and meetings with our neighbors have taken place. We’ve listened to what you want from your community center and the life-enriching activities that can be offered inside and outside of our walls.

Several activities are taking place concurrently in the early months of 2025. Our consultant, Threshold Sacred Development, will be issuing a request for proposal in January to design/build firms for architectural plans and construction estimates. They will also be submitting the formal request to the City of Madison in January which will initiate the city’s approval process. There will be more neighborhood meetings, similar to the one held in November 2024, as the project moves through the various stages of the process.

If all goes as planned, ECC will be moving out of the current building by the end of July, with demolition and construction beginning in August.

and we have a way to go.

We have received great support from our neighbors and community organizations over the past three years. And continued support will be needed, and greatly appreciated, as we look to raise the remaining funds required for the lender to approve the loan and furnish the community center.

Over the next several months, ECC will be out in the community to raise funds to close the remaining down payment gap, which is just under $100,000 on a $7.5 million project, and for items that will make the community center functional and operational. More on this as the effort kicks off in the coming weeks.
